Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business (MSB)
invites applications for a full-time
non-tenure line Teaching Professor or Professor of the Practice in
the field of International Business. The position provides up
to a 3-year contract with possible, long-term renewals based on
on-going curricular and programmatic need, and positive
performance evaluations.
The faculty member’s most important responsibility will be to lead
multiple sections of MSB’s signature “Global Business
Experience (GBE)” course, which engages students in experiential
learning around the world. The GBE courses run across multiple
programs at MSB. Leading GBE involves:
● Developing and delivering international on-location experiential
learning programs,
● Developing relationships with companies, NGOs, and multilateral
organizations to create
consulting projects to be completed by student teams,
● Providing academic and professional guidance to teams as they
complete their work,
● Facilitating students’ development in leadership and teamwork as
well as their substantive
application of business skills to complex client challenges.
Job Qualifications
The successful applicant will have an appropriate terminal degree,
broad international experience as well as senior professional
experience (preferably in a diverse set of industries). The
position requires frequent travel, cultural adaptability, and
the ability to guide projects in multiple business
disciplines. Prior teaching experience is desirable, as is a
record of excellent client-focused work. The ideal candidate
might be an academic with extensive corporate research or
consulting relationships, or might be a senior international
business or consulting executive with strong links to, and
appreciation for, academic teaching and research. While not a
prerequisite, a PhD degree would be a plus.
Application Procedure
All applications should be submitted electronically through
Interfolio. Interested applicants should provide: a cover
letter, a curriculum vitae, teaching statements and (as applicable)
teaching evaluations. Please also submit the names and contact
information for three references.
We will begin reviewing applications in April 2022 and the
search process will continue until the position
is filled.
