About this Opportunity
The School of Art seeks part time semester instructors to teach a variety of courses in the Graphic Arts Management and Visual Communication areas. These areas serve a large number of art majors as well as other students throughout the university. Successful candidates may be hired to teach between one and three courses. Course development support and pedagogical mentoring will be offered.
The School of Art at Ball State has thirty-three full-time faculty and offers state-of-the-art facilities serving over 550 undergraduate majors as well as a graduate program. Programs at the BA, BS, BFA, and MFA levels include animation, art education, art history, ceramics, drawing, glass, graphic arts management, intermedia art, metals, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and visual communication (graphic design). Housed in the Art and Journalism building, School of Art students enjoy over 57,000 square feet of world-class facilities (including over 7000 square feet of printing facilities in the Applied Technology Building), a nationally ranked animation program, The Ned and Gloria Griner Gallery, and the Glick Center for Glass. Students and faculty work closely with David Owsley Museum of Art on campus, among the finest university art collections in the nation. Ball State University is accredited by the National Association for Schools of Art and Design.

Description
The School of Art seeks part time semester instructors to teach a variety of courses in the Graphic Arts Management and Visual Communication areas. These areas serve a large number of art majors as well as other students throughout the university. Successful candidates may be hired to teach between one and three courses. Course development support and pedagogical mentoring will be offered.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Art or Science from an accredited college or university completed by start of appointment and/or industry experience related to the defined coursework for Graphic Arts Management or Visual Communication (Graphic Design).
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
M.F.A. or Ph.D. from an accredited college or university by start of appointment. Experience teaching at the college or university level beyond graduate assistantships.
