Job Summary/Basic Function
The Liberty University School of Education is seeking a full-time (12 month) residential faculty member and Special Education content specialist in Lynchburg, VA.
Duties include:
-Teaches education courses in special education and instruction
-Advises students in matters related to academic, attendance, and behavior
-Contributes to continuous program improvement for special education
-Assists in curriculum review and development
-Supports the accreditation process through the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation ( CAEP )
-Provides relevant services in line with the mission of the university
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean
Minimum Qualifications
Applicant must have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Special Education, with a current/active Special Education endorsement on state teacher’s license.
Full doctrinal compatibility with Liberty University.
Degree must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Creative, innovative, and problem solving skills required.
Proven organizational skills and ability to complete assignments timely and accurately with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in MS Office, Canvas, and the Internet.
Able to obtain and maintain licenses if applicable as required by state, accrediting commissions and School of Education position requirements.
Demonstrated strengths in teaching at the university level is essential.
