The Department of Physics, Astronomy, Geosciences, & Engineering Technology in the College of Science & Mathematics seeks applicants for a non-tenure track Limited Term faculty position at the rank of Lecturer for the new B.S. Degree Program in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Industrial Engineering Technology. The position is for the 2022-2023 academic year beginning August 1, 2022, and ending June 1, 2023.  The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in their area of expertise and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.

The department is home to the newly-created B.S. Degree Program of Engineering Technology, which has a concentration in Industrial Engineering Technology. The department is also home to the Engineering Studies program which is a two-year transfer program which provides a pathway for students to transition to the four-year engineering degree programs at Georgia Institute of Technology or other engineering programs in Georgia. Responsibilities

Teaching 15 credit hours of courses in Industrial Engineering Technology, Introductory courses of Engineering, Trig-based Physics, general science courses that support other majors, as well as others classes related to their area of expertise in Industrial Engineering Technology. participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in the field of Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, or closely-related field; 
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship; 
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • D. in the field of Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, or closely-related field;
  • A record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicant’s career stage that includes online teaching;
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting;
  • A record of mentoring students of diverse backgrounds.
