Job Summary
The Coordinator of New Student and Family Programs provides assistance to the Assistant Director of New Student and Family Programs in all aspects of planning, developing, and implementing all new student orientations (SOAR), family orientations, and family events on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah, GA.

Responsibilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University
  • Plan and implement new student orientation (SOAR) programming for new undergraduate students and their supporters, requiring strong campus-wide collaborations.
  • Advise more than 20 undergraduate SOAR leaders and SOAR returners, in recruiting, selecting, training, supervising, and managing overall student group development.
  • Draft and edit web, e-mail, and print publications/communications and maintains online orientation software for new student orientation and transition programming.
  • Stay abreast of national trends in new student orientation and transition programs to ensure student needs are met, leading to their successful progression.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of family programs, including two weekend events annually.
  • Support the Office of Admissions at on- and off-campus recruitment events and serve as an on-call counselor and gives daily information sessions when available.
  • Represent orientation and transition programs and family/supporter programs at Admissions recruitment and yield events, both on and off-campus
  • Facilitate in the planning and execution of the University's holistic transition initiative, "The Eagle Experience"

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Required Experience
  • Two (2) or more years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field

Preferred Experience
  • Advisory and/or supervisory experience

Proposed Salary
$36,500 - $38,000

This position is non-exempt and paid on a biweekly basis
