Student Success and Services Program Coordinator



Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a Student Success and Services Program Coordinator in the School of Engineering. This position is responsible for providing support and for meeting needs of the Dean, faculty, students, staff, and visitors to the School of Engineering.
  • Under the direction of the Dean and the Director, maintain responsibility for School of Engineering (SOE) student success advising, program coordination, and outreach services in collaboration with The Citadel student success center.
  • Connect students to on campus support services including the counseling center, student success center/services for students with disabilities, and tutoring.
  • Provides support for student organization meetings as well as School of Engineering events; to including all logistics associated with the meeting (catering, room request, etc.)
  • Assists with the collection of student data for academic department, such as graduation, attrition, retention, and job placement. Work with at-risk students to provide academic support and student success strategies.
  • Coordinate & promote student outreach programs to assigned departments; collaborates with Director of Engineering Education Innovation to provide and improve curriculum, learning activities services to students such as course scheduling and travel.
  • Provide event planning, execution, and support for SOE and department events under direction of the Dean and the Director
  • Serves as primary liaison to the Registrar’s Office for department.
  • Maintains and updates department and SOE webpages, adding new content or creating new pages.
  • Under the direction of the Director, assists with the development of department and SOE marketing collateral, including recruitment materials, publications (print and electronic), and other electronic media Assists the Director with the creation and development of an annual recruitment plan for the School of Engineering.
  • Attends local recruiting events on behalf of all SOE programs. Manages relationships with a portfolio of community partners and stakeholders Supports on-campus recruitment and outreach programs, including open houses and virtual open houses Responds to inquiries from prospective students and the general public about engineering programs at The Citadel.
  • Handles correspondence, telephone calls and mail. In collaboration with Department Head and Dean, establishes processes and procedures for the department Maintains files of office correspondence, documents, and reports Serves as a liaison between the departmental offices to the School of Engineering. Coordinates Department Heads’ and Dean’s schedules Manages room reservations for assigned buildings and SOE/Department events. Assist in the coordination and minutes for Spring and Fall Advisory Board Meetings for Departments and the Dean’s Executive Advisory Board. Coordinates reimbursement process for department staff/faculty and Dean.
  • Assists Department Head and Dean in monitoring department account balances and completes financial transactions as requested Serves as Budget Liaison for department P-Card and Travel Card Holders Coordinate with Lab Technician to ensure purchases are promptly made for Senior Design projects while keeping log of purchases tied to each student group while keeping a log of purchases tied to each student group.
Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree and at least one (1) year of relevant program and/or student services experience or relevant STEM-related experience. Knowledge of office practices, good communication skills; patient & courteous manner in responding to the needs of faculty, students, and visitors. Values teamwork and can build positive working relationships to carry out job functions. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and stay on task while managing interruptions. Knowledge of computers and standard office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in higher education, academic advising, or admissions preferred.
