Senior Lecturer - Operations Research and Engineering Management

The Department of Operations Research and Engineering Management (OREM) invites applications for an opportunity to be involved in the shaping of innovative academic programs in Systems Engineering and Engineering Management. We seek full-time teaching faculty candidates for a senior lecturer position (Position #00053184) in areas relevant to our academic programs in industrial and systems engineering -- methodological and applied – including, but not limited to, systems design, systems operation, risk management, engineering management, engineering leadership, and models-based systems engineering with applications in service and supply-chain systems.

Eligible candidates for the position (i) must have a doctoral degree in systems or industrial engineering, or related field; and (ii) are expected to demonstrate the ability to support existing core courses of our systems engineering and engineering management degrees; and (iii) must have the expertise to develop new courses in areas relevant to our programs at the undergraduate and masters levels. Eligible candidates should also have a significant potential for further educational program development and administrative leadership for growing existing programs in systems engineering and engineering management.

The target appointment date is the fall semester, 2022. About the Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering

SMU’s Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering, founded in 1925, is one of the oldest engineering schools in the Southwest. The school offers eight undergraduate and 29 graduate programs, including master’s and doctoral degrees, through the departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical and Computer Engineering; Operations Research and Engineering Management; and Mechanical Engineering.
