SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward thinking and engaging Instructor/Assistant Professor to join the School of Applied Technologies starting Fall 2022. 

Applications are being accepted for a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track faculty member to join the School of Applied Technologies teaching a variety of courses in the Residential Construction, Associates in Applied Science (AAS) program. The successful candidate will have credentials and experience to teach estimating, scheduling, project management, and engineering based courses. 

Faculty members in our Residential Construction program are also responsible for the following: 

Program Development

  • Participate in annual systematic assessment of program
  • Participate in analyzing data and making recommendations for curriculum and programmatic revisions where necessary

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based instruction in accordance with the policies set forth by the College
  • Post and keep regular office hours for the convenience of students
  • Participate in the assessment of course, student learning, and program outcomes
  • Incorporate student service learning opportunities

Advisement

  • Assist in advisement of students
  • Guide and counsel students toward personal and career development
  • Track student's completion of progression requirements

Academic & Organization Commitment

  • Serve on campus committees
  • Mentoring Adjunct Faculty
  • Participate in full and part-time faculty meetings
  • Participate in accreditation reviews and reports
  • Engage in the academic and organizational life of the college
  • Pursue scholarly interests

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 yrs professional experience in construction or a related field
  • NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • 7 or more yrs professional experience in construction or a related field
  • Experience in teaching or working with young adults
  • Demonstrated ability to teach diverse populations
  • Understanding the value of civic engagement
