Full-time, tenure track, open rank faculty position. Primary teaching will occur in the Master of Science Occupational Therapy curriculum. There are some opportunities for teaching in the undergraduate Health Science curriculum. Other responsibilities included mentoring graduate research, maintaining a scholarship agenda, and contributing to departmental and college level service.

The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program is one of five programs in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, which also includes the Master of Science in Athletic Training, Doctor of Athletic Training, Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, and Doctor of Physical Therapy. The vision for the department is to develop collaborative, interprofessional programs within a single academic unit. Moravian University has new, state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate our growing health sciences programs. Our facilities house cutting-edge technology for student education including a clinical simulation center and virtual cadaver lab.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Position responsibilities include teaching in the professional MSOT program and undergraduate Health Science major, course development, curricular coordination in the individual's area of expertise, scholarship, and service to the Department, University, profession, and community.

Faculty members within Moravian University are expected to demonstrate and promote inclusive and equitable practices to support diverse learners and teachers in a manner that contributes to student success and promotes equity in opportunities for achievement.

COGNITIVE DEMANDS:

  • Summarize technical information and interpret for students
  • Promote student problem solving
  • Develop learning activities and learning outcome measures
  • Provide feedback to students on learning performance
  • Communicate (speech, written) clearly with OT and Rehab Science Faculty and students

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An earned academic doctoral degree (Ph.D., EdD, DSc, post-professional OTD)
  • Current license or eligible for PA licensure as an occupational therapist
  • Contemporary expertise in any of the following clinical areas: Adult Physical Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, Clinic Management, Primary Care, Hand Therapy, Ergonomics, and/or Interprofessional Education
  • An established scholarly agenda and teaching experience are preferred
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education
