Shenandoah University’s Purchasing and Accounts Payable Department is seeking applications for a Purchasing and Accounts Payable Manager. This is a full-time benefited position located in the Bowman Building, downtown Winchester, Virginia.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the purchasing and accounts payable functions for the University, while ensuring transactions are accurate and in compliance with the University’ policies and procedures
  • Supervise the Purchasing and Accounts Payable staff
  • Ensure effective communications and trainings are provided to the campus community on policies and procedures of the department
  • Manage the 1099-MISC tax form process throughout the year, along with annual filing to the IRS and payees
  • Manage the fiscal year-end closing functions for the department
  • Ensure effective departmental procedures are maintained and developed as needed
  • Coordinate and/or assist with new initiatives for the department
Required Skills

Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of successful experience working in the purchasing, accounts payable and/or accounting field for a minimum of 3 – 4 years
  • Supervision of office staff with a minimum of 2 - 4 years’ experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational and management skills and have experience working with a diverse community
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • Experience working with an ERP system and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and Gmail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and to be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
