East Tennessee State University, College of Nursing (CON) is seeking an experienced faculty member with a PhD in Nursing or related field to serve as Associate Dean of Research. This is a 12-month, Tenured/Tenure Track position. Position is based in Johnson City, TN and may include face-to-face and/or online teaching. Position is available to start as soon as the search process has ended. Faculty rank commensurate with education and experience.

ETSU, serving over 14,500 students, is a research-intensive university. The College of Nursing is part of the Academic Health Sciences Center which includes Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences.  A Center for Nursing Research supports faculty and student scholarship. 

ETSU is located in the heart of the southern Appalachian Mountains with beautiful rivers, mountain streams, and lakes. The region surrounding the university is home to thriving cities, historic towns, the birthplace of country music, the International Storytelling Center, and an extensive array of health care agencies and providers in both rural and urban environments.

Required: 

• PhD in Nursing or related field
• Eligible for Tenure at the Associate Professor level or above.

• Registered Nurse license in the State of Tennessee or compact state at time of hire.
• Ongoing history of successful extramurally funded research and publications.
• Evidence of professional leadership and progressive leadership responsibilities

Preferred:

• Graduate degree in Nursing.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to the profession.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain research funding on a federal level.

All applicants must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to a team environment are required.
