The Art Department in the School of Arts, Sciences, and Business at Notre Dame of Maryland University is searching for a visiting assistant professor of studio art. This full-time, one year position begins on August 22,2022. The Department seeks to appoint a dynamic faculty member who can cover a broad spectrum of courses, including studio art foundations, and every level of painting and drawing for majors and non-majors. The successful candidate will have an MFA (by May 2022) in painting or drawing, and an active exhibition record. Highly qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate teaching experience and excellence in teaching in an inclusive environment that embraces diverse talents and backgrounds. We especially seek candidates whose interests will help amplify our focus on a diverse and inclusive curriculum.
Primary responsibilities include teaching 3 undergraduate courses per semester in the Women’s College. In addition to teaching, faculty are also expected to serve as academic advisers, and be engaged with the department, the school, and the University as a whole.
