The Department of Biology at Kalamazoo College invites applications for a one-year, full-time visiting position, beginning September 2022. Responsibilities include teaching upper-level courses with labs in the areas of Human/Vertebrate Anatomy & Physiology and Molecular Biology (three courses in total), and an upper-level seminar course in the applicant’s area of expertise.
A completed Ph.D. is required. Prior teaching experience and a demonstrated interest in undergraduate teaching is desirable. We especially encourage applications from candidates whose intellectual and pedagogical approaches to the discipline will be effective in attracting and retaining historically underrepresented students. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to working with students, faculty, and staff from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning May 1,
2022 and continue until the position is filled. Applications should
include a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching
experience and philosophy, a statement addressing experience
working with underrepresented students and pedagogical ways to
create an inclusive classroom, and undergraduate and graduate
transcripts (unofficial is acceptable). Submitted documents should
be in PDF format. Please arrange to have three confidential letters
of recommendation addressed to Dr. Santiago Salinas, Department of
Biology and sent to BiologySearch@kzoo.edu using
the applicant’s name as the subject line:
lastname_firstname.

cultural diversity of the College to apply and to identify
themselves if they wish. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
