Bucknell University is a private, highly selective, unique national University where liberal arts and strong professional programs in engineering, business, education, and music complement each other. The Department of Physics & Astronomy is a fully undergraduate department with 14 tenured and tenure-track faculty, and support provided by a lab coordinator, an administrative assistant, and tech support staff. Typically, 8-12 physics majors graduate per year, and our introductory courses are taken by students majoring in all math and science disciplines, all of the students in the College of Engineering, and by students from all majors in a liberal arts environment.
Bucknell University, an EEOC Employer, believes that students learn best in a diverse, inclusive community, and is therefore committed to academic excellence through diversity in its faculty, staff, and students. We seek candidates who are committed to Bucknell's efforts to create a climate that fosters the growth and development of a diverse student body, and we welcome applications from members of groups that have been historically underrepresented in higher education.
