Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Director of Latino Student Initiatives, the individual selected for this position will assist inthe implementation of academic, social, cultural, leadership and professional development programs andactivities in support of the department, Division of Student Affairs and university missions, through acoordinated care model. Primary Responsibilities
  • Enhance, coordinate and oversee the NKU LAMP program (Freshman Transition Retention Program)

  • Develop and coordinate programming to promote diversity, cultural awareness, and inclusion within the campus community for Latino Student Initiatives

  • Design, implement, and plan support, educational enrichment, and retention initiatives for Latino/a/x students (sophomore, junior, and transfer students)

  • Provide guidance and make appropriate referrals for students on educational, financial, personal, and career matters through a coordinated care model
Qualifications
Bachelors degree and a year of related experience required. Masters degree preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English preferred)

  • Experience with promoting cross-cultural/intersectional communication and advancing social justice

  • Strong sense of initiative and creativity

  • Experience in developing and facilitating study skills workshops and seminars

  • Experience working with multicultural and predominantly Latino/a/x student organizations

  • Enthusiasm and ability to motivate and inspire students to excel

  • Understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of non-traditional and commuter students

  • Understanding of issues related to Undocumented/ DACA students

  • Excellent communication and time management skills
