Position Summary

We are looking for a well-trained post-doctoral fellow to work on an exciting NIH funded project at the intersection of vascular bioengineering and immunoengineering. The project seeks to understand the role of immune cells, specifically monocyte/macrophages of the host on regeneration of vascular grafts. Working knowledge with cell culture, molecular biology (cloning, gene editing etc.) and animal work experience is expected. Experience with bioinformatic analysis is highly desirable. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with others in our team, have excellent oral communications and writing skills and have strong work ethic.

Responsibilities will include:
  • The post-doctoral scholar will perform research related to the project “Cell-free vascular grafts: immunological response and vascular regeneration”
  • Perform experiments that involve cell culture, molecular biology, advanced imaging and animal experiments
  • Perform high throughput experiments involving transcriptomic and metabolomic methods as well as bioinformatic analysis
  • Mentor and collaborate with undergraduate/MS students and PhD candidates on research.
  • Participate in lab organization and lab meetings
  • Write research proposals
  • Write quarterly scientific reports and manuscripts to be published in peer reviewed scientific journals

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering or related fields. Hands-on experience in immunology and/or vascular biology and experience with mouse models and analysis of next generation sequencing data is important.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with flow cytometry, molecular biology, protein production, metabolism, high-throughput methods ( RNA -Seq, single cell RNA -seq, ChiP-Seq), hands-on experience with bioinformatics and data analytics.

Physical Demands

Salary Range
$45,000 - $55,000 depending on qualifications and experience
