About the position: Western Washington University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor in Global Modern and Contemporary Art History for the 2022-2023 academic year to begin in Fall 2022. We seek an art historian who can teach the art of the nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first centuries from a global perspective. The successful candidate’s field of specialization could include Middle Eastern, North African, indigenous American, and/or Latinx art. The course load for this position is two courses per quarter (2/2/2) and includes two introductory survey courses as well as four upper-division courses at the undergraduate level.

An MA in Art History (or closely related field) is required; a PhD is strongly recommended. Salary is commensurate with experience.
