Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Academic Finance and Administration - Boca Raton, FL.

 

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Directs planning, preparation, oversight, monitoring, and implementation of the $365m budget for Academic Affairs.
  • Works closely with the Provost, Associate/Assistant Provosts, Deans, the Associate Vice President for Financial Affairs and the University Budget Office to ensure that the goals and objectives of the University, the Board of Governors for the State University System and the Florida State Legislature are met.
  • Directs consistent reporting of the Academic Affairs budget and ensures compliance with university, state and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Coordinates and manages budgets across all units within Academic Affairs, compiles and analyzes financial and faculty HR information, develops multi-year financial projections, provides leadership and direction in budgetary policy development and interpretation, and prepares budget presentations for the Provost's leadership team and Faculty Senate, as needed.
  • Provides direction to college, academic unit, and partner campus business managers, including training and interpretive activities regarding university budget/accounting policies and regulations and state statutes.
  • Directs and manages budget staff members in the Provost's office and interacts daily with all levels of employees of the University, providing information and interpretation on budget matters related to expense, enrollment and personnel.
  • Works with Provost, Vice Provost and Financial Affairs to implement changes to the budgeting model.
  • Responsible for business process implementation, testing, troubleshooting, training and support for HR Workday as it relates to faculty.
  • Represents the college, academic unit, and campus business managers in streamlining business processes, developing reports, and maintaining communication between areas such as University Budget, Controller's Office, and Human Resources.
  • Acts as liaison with University Budget, Controller's Office, Human Resources and Associate Provost of Academic Personnel on issues related to personnel salaries. Other Duties as Assigned.

 

Minimum Qualification

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience required.
