Brief Summary of Work for this Position

Conducts educational and recreational activities for K-12 participants. Minimum education and experience include graduation from high school and prior experience leading recreation activities.

Given the on-going COVID -19 pandemic, we cannot ensure we will be given permission to operate as a full in-person and residential program.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of marine sciences is a plus
  • Experience teaching K-12 students
  • Completion of bachelors degree or equivalent
Required Certifications or Licensure
  • Lifeguard Certification preferred and in some cases required (Certifications must be obtained by June 5, 2022 if required)
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (Certifications must be obtained by June 5, 2022)
  • Must complete online training modules and attend MarineQuest staff training held June 6th – 11th, 2022.

Work Hours

Half-day positions: 7:30AM - 12:15PM Monday – Friday ; Full-day 7:30AM - 4:15PM Monday-Thursday, and 7:30AM - 1:45PM Friday(Dependent on program)

Work Days

Daytime positions: Monday-Friday

Hours Per Week

Half-day positions 25 hrs, Full-day positions 40 hours, with possibility of 5 hours overtime.

$8 - $14/hour - (dependent on qualifications and specific position)

Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines. To be considered for the main staff selection pool of applicants you must apply by February 11, 2022. Applications may still be submitted after this deadline to be considered only if position is not filled by initial pool of applicants. Pay varies by position and is based on qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Additional compensation includes housing and some meals when working.
