Maternal Child Clinical Faculty - School of Nursing

Chief Purpose of this position:

VCU School of Nursing invites candidates to apply to the Maternal Child Clinical faculty position. This open rank 12-month term faculty position will serve as clinical faculty with clinical expertise in maternal/child, women’s health. Faculty hired into this position will teach in the undergraduate program with an emphasis in maternal/child health courses; contribute to curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; coordinate clinical sections and clinical education sites; clinically supervise students in undergraduate clinical; participate in school governance activities; and implement all roles of term faculty (teaching, scholarship, and service).

Academic rank, and salary are dependent on demonstrated scholarly achievement, certifications, and teaching experience.

• Engages faculty, students, and staff to foster a diverse community at VCU
• Demonstrates an integrated academic life, contributing to the teaching, scholarship, and service missions in an urban research-intensive university with an academic health sciences center
• Participates in all aspects of curriculum including curriculum development, teaching (in classroom and clinical settings), and evaluation
• Maintains a commitment to serving the school of nursing, university, profession and community
  

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Virginia
• Graduate degree in nursing
• Clinical experience working in women’s health including obstetrics and post-partum care
• Documented effectiveness in collaboration and communication
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in higher education including teaching, simulation instruction, accreditation, program review or assessment
• Record of accomplishments in scholarship and professional service
