Job Description

The Montague laboratory at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI) is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate who is a physiologist with excellent quantitative and engineering skills. The postdoc will work in a new area of human brain imaging that employs new sensing methodologies (optically pumped magnetometry), which requires the integration of sensing methodologies with computational modeling and other imaging modalities. The successful candidate will possess hands-on experience with human research processes involving data collection using magnetoencephalography, as well as be familiar with statistical approaches to detecting extremely small signals in noisy environments. The candidate should possess good communication skills and a demonstrated capacity to work and direct diverse groups of investigators. Prior experience working on neurobiological data is a plus, but is not required. Experience with MATLAB or equivalent analysis software is preferred.

Required Qualifications

- PhD in neuroscience, computational neuroscience, or appropriate discipline. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
- Possess good communication skills and a demonstrated capacity to work and direct diverse groups of investigators.
- Demonstrated experience with human recordings involving MEG

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with MATLAB or equivalent analysis software
- Experience with human recordings and function MRI
- Experience in neurobiological data collection methods and analysis
- Demonstrated track record of research excellence as indicated by peer reviewed publications and presentations
