University of Houston-Clear Lake invites applications and nominations for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Educational Research with a specialization in Quantitative Methodology starting Fall, 2022.

Duties:

  • Teach undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral courses in both fall and spring utilizing instructional best practices for the College of Education's programs.
  • Provide mentoring and student support in areas such as qualitative research methodology and program evaluation.
  • Develop curriculum.
  • Establish and maintain an active research and publication agenda.
  • Supervise graduate students in a variety of settings and serve on master’s theses and doctoral dissertations.
  • Participate in service to the college, university and community.
  Qualifications  

Required:

  1. Earned Doctorate in Quantitative Research Methodologies or related field with 18 or more graduate-level credit hours in research and statistics. Exceptional ABD candidates will receive consideration.
  2. Classroom teaching experience.
  3. A demonstrated record of research, scholarly publications and grant writing or a clear indication of potential success in these areas.
  4. Knowledge of the field of research methods as well as knowledge of instructional strategies relevant to PK-22 education.
  5. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  6. Must be able to collaborate successfully with all levels of staff and faculty.
  7. Ability to utilize instructional best practices for the College of Education's programs and providing mentoring and student support.
  8. Participate in college and university level committees and professional organizations. 

Desired:

Doctorate degree in Educational Research with a specialization in quantitative research design and statistics from an accredited program.

Experience in the following: P-12 teaching, University masters/doctoral level teaching, face-to-face and online teaching, serving on dissertation committees, qualitative and mixed-methods research experience.

Credentials to teach in both research and another teaching field in higher education.

Experience teaching doctoral courses and serving on dissertation committees.
