The College of Humanities and Fine Arts at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the position of Lecturer of English. The appointment will be effective August 2022.

The department seeks candidates with a record of teaching excellence in first-year composition. Primary teaching assignments will be in first-year composition, but may also include introductory-level literature, business & professional writing, and/or creative writing, so preference may be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of those areas. Teaching assignments may include evening and distance-learning courses. Prior experience with distance learning would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will hold an M.A. (or equivalent), M.F.A, or Ph.D. in English, will have training and experience in first-year composition, and will have at least three years of college-level teaching experience. Candidates should demonstrate sustained interest in pedagogical developments in composition studies. The typical teaching load will be four (4) courses per semester (fall and spring).
