Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is pleased to announce an opening in the Paul C. Reinert, S.J. Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning for an Instructional Design Specialist.

The Instructional Design Specialist will collaborate with instructors from all disciplines to determine goals, objectives, and appropriate delivery methods and technologies primarily for online instruction. We seek applicants who have experience teaching online and who have experience or are interested in working with faculty to design and build online courses. We welcome applications from any discipline.

The Reinert Center is a dynamic, well-respected teaching center that has served SLU faculty, graduate students, and academic units for more than twenty years. As an educational development unit, we do not build online courses for faculty, but with faculty, through a collaborative process. The Instructional Design Specialist will collaborate with instructors on course design and development and with other Reinert Center team members; will provide technical expertise to produce and support the production of interactive learning experiences; will facilitate workshops for instructors; and will develop resources on teaching and learning with technology, among other things. The successful candidate will have experience in higher education and will demonstrate the ability to work effectively within the context of a university setting. NB: Candidates with experience in inclusive online teaching and universal design are especially encouraged to apply.

Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree, at least two (2) years of experience teaching online in an academic discipline at the post-secondary level.

Preferred Qualifications: Five (5) or more years of online teaching experience at the post-secondary level and demonstrated experience working with instructors on instructional design/development.

This is not a remote position.
