The Teacher Education Department at the University of Jamestown
invites applications for one full-time faculty member at the rank
of Instructor or Assistant Professor. This position will
begin in August of 2022
Requirements: Earned Masters, Ph.D., or Ed.D. in
education, a current teaching license and at least 5 years of
teaching in grades PK-8. A background in elementary
curriculum and instruction is required; specifically elementary
social studies, math, science and language arts.
Additionally, a background in special education policies and
practices and the ability to teach special education courses is
essential. Preference given to applicants who have experience with
students from diverse backgrounds, social emotional learning, and
trauma sensitive schools.
Responsibilities: Teaching on-campus undergraduate courses
such as elementary methods, special education, and other
professional foundations as needed. In addition, faculty serve as
student advisors, supervise student teachers, participate in
departmental and university initiatives, and engage in scholarly
activities. Opportunities to teach in the summer session and
in the university’s on-line graduate program may be available.
