MINIMUM PAY RATE: $87,428 annually

POSITION SUMMARY
The director of marketing and creative services elevates the perception of the JJC brand through strategic campaigns to target audiences. The director supports collaboration and innovation through leadership of the marketing and creative services team and spearheads all aspects of the marketing function including website content and appearance, marketing communications, enrollment and institutional publications and events, marketing research, sponsorship marketing, and digital marketing to impact JJC’s market position, enrollment goals, and goals identified in the college’s strategic plan. This position reports to the executive director of communications and marketing.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development, design, implementation and delivery of all marketing collateral and communications ensuring identified objectives and outcomes are met, are accomplished on budget, and result in client satisfaction to advance the JJC brand, image, and mission. Knowledge of and familiarity with emerging marketing communications trends, using an innovative approach, best practices, and appropriate application. Identify and implement new marketing communication opportunities to promote JJC within diverse cultures and communities. Manage global strategy related to the digital content and cosmetic look and feel of JJC’s website, JJC.edu. Identify, develop, and implement institution’s brand strategy, portfolio, logo identification, sub brands, and style guide through continuous assessment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or marketing-related discipline.
2. Five (5) years of experience in marketing communications and/or public relations including at least three (3) years in a leadership role.
3. Demonstrated understanding and successful experience digital/online marketing strategies and demonstrated experience in website development and communications.
4. Hands-on experience and proven results in lead generation programs that target prospective students with the goal of converting them into JJC students.
5. A proven ability to oversee all marketing, advertising and promotional.
6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
7. Demonstrated commitment to the college’s core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or marketing-related discipline.
2. Experience within higher education.
2. Knowledge of and familiarity with higher education issues and trends impacting community colleges.
3. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
4. Demonstrated multicultural competence
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Normal office physical demands.
2. Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.
3. Ability to travel in state and nationally.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.
