Job Description:

Fairfield College Preparatory School is an all-boys Jesuit, Catholic high school of excellence located on the campus of Fairfield University for students in ninth through twelfth grade.

Fairfield Prep is currently seeking qualified candidates who are energetic and passionate educators for a part-time position in the McLeod Innovation Camp as a Creative Technologies Counselor. The Innovation Camp will take place from July 18th-22nd and from August 1st-5th. Counselors will participate in an orientation prior to those dates. Camp hours are from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. The Creative Technologies Counselor will be expected to:
  • As a Creative Technologies Counselor:
    • Provide a safe, educational, and fun camp environment for our campers.

    • Lead a small group of campers.

    • Facilitate the Innovation Camp programming.

    • Prepare the actives for the day and organize your classroom at the end of the day.

  • As a member of the Innovation Camp:
    • Work collaboratively with the Innovation Camp Director and team.

    • Attend the Innovation Camp orientation.

    • Provide constructive feedback about the Innovation Camp programming at the end of each day.

    • Help manage and maintain all equipment in the McLeod Innovation Center as required (e.g., 3D printers)

  • Skills & Qualifications:
    • Must be a team player, collaborative, problem solver, and with a growth mind set.

    • Experience with creative technologies such as Makey Makey, Solarbot, Scratch, Arduino, TinkerCAD, etc.

    • Background in engineering, digital fabrication, computer and physical programming, 3D modeling and printing, and/or STEAM education.

    • Knowledge of various computer software languages is desired (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, C++, & Python).

    • Experience teaching middle school students and/or a as STEM camp counselor.
