Job Description

The Digital Media Specialist in the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost supports key communications functions including producing photography and videography for digital communications and marketing, supporting social media and web platforms, and assisting with other projects that communicate effective and timely information related to academic, research, programmatic, stakeholder engagement, and university-level initiatives.

The Digital Media Specialist is a storyteller who captures and creates compelling and engaging visual content, supports and enhances media channels across the Provost’s Office units, and aligns with digital promotional and messaging campaigns of the University. This position requires a highly creative and collaborative person who can contribute creative skill and experience to a comprehensive and continually evolving communications infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in photography/videography, marketing, web or graphic design, or related field with experience equivalent to a graduate level degree. A combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Demonstrated professional experience and proficiency producing photos and videos for digital communications.
- A digital portfolio with relevant examples of photography/videography and/or design work.
- Experience with file management and organization.
- Experience with analytics and search engine optimization.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software.
- Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

- Project management experience.
- Experience with developing, managing, and analyzing social media campaigns for promotion of events, programs, activities, and achievements.
- Knowledge of digital accessibility, web design, and brand standards.
- Experience with content management systems.
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Experience collaborating with freelance teams and overseeing work both internally and externally.
