Summary/Objective
The incumbent is responsible for reviewing and analyzing admissions data and trends, forecasting changes in enrollment, and working with the Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Admissions and Vice Provost for Enrollment to develop appropriate enrollment models and operational strategies to respond. The Associate Director/Business Analyst is also responsible for developing and maintaining expertise in and facilitating staff utilization of Colleague, MicroStrategy Business Intelligence, Datatel Recruiter the university student information system, data technology tools, student customer relationship management tool and all other relevant technologies used for data analysis, as well as producing daily, weekly, quarterly and annual reports used in enrollment management.This position reports directly to the Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Admissions. This position is part of the leadership team within the Admissions Office specifically and also functions as part of a larger management team within the Office of Enrollment. The incumbent serves as the office's primary liaison to the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment and works collaboratively with the Business Analyst in the Office of Financial Aid and the Manager of Student Success and Retention to address common concerns. Reporting to this position is a Data Analyst.
Essential Functions
- Data Validation and Modeling:
Collaborate with intra- and inter-departmental colleagues in streamlining, standardizing, optimizing, and validating data-related processes. Define and set standards for data validation and data integrity. Build, create and deploy models that enable Office of Enrollment leadership to determine the most impactful manner in which to award merit scholarships. Build, create and deploy models that use geodemographic information systems to visualize, analyze, predict and identify trends and relationships for recruitment travel. Build, create and deploy models that enhance and optimize student search name purchases. Conduct regular data and file audits.
- Data Analysis:
Review and evaluate admissions data and trends, forecast changes in enrollment and work with the Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Admissions to develop appropriate enrollment models and operational strategies to respond. Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses of the data both independently and with the admissions team. Develop and maintain familiarity with characteristics of key market segments and recommend opportunities to improve the admissions process. Perform advanced data research and analysis to provide senior management with in-depth information on the latest advances in predictive and/or analytical models. With the Assistant Vice Provost, lead efforts to improve business processes by integrating relevant tools for data analysis into the day-to-day procedures.

3. System Support, Maintenance, and Training:
Develop and maintain expertise in and Conduct training for the admissions staff on student information systems and relevant tools for data analysis. Develop and implement new business processes to improve workflow. Assist users in understanding and utilizing data systems in their outreach planning. Work with trainers to provide end-user training and updates for new and changed applications
4. Report Generation:
Respond to internal and external requests for admissions data. Produce daily, weekly, quarterly, annual, and other reports used in enrollment management as requested by supervisor.
5. Supervision:
Provide direct supervision for one full-time member. Monitor workload, evaluate employee performance and seek opportunities for employee professional and skill development.
6. File Review and Travel:
Review and evaluate admission applications as needed. Travel to support both regional and campus-based recruitment and conversion events.

- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
- Minimum of five years of related experience.
- Experience using statistical software packages (e.g. JMP
Software, SPSS, SAS, STATA, or R) as well as Microsoft Office
Suite, especially Microsoft Excel. Experience with Oracle SQL, and
Oracle databases.
- Must have experience with regression analyses.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technology concepts effectively with
technically proficient and non-technically proficient
individuals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effective customer service
skills.
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving
skills.
- Over two years of experience working in a university or college
setting.
- Experience using Ellucian Colleague or Ellucian Recruit
products.
