The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) is seeking an associate or full professor to direct a new center housed in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (CEHHS) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The Center will be focused on research, public service, and outreach projects that address pressing issues facing educational leaders and policymakers. Its current portfolio of projects is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Tennessee Higher Education Commission, and private foundations at more than $1 million per year.
CEHHS is a multidisciplinary unit with 90+ tenured/tenure-track faculty members, housed in eight departments. ELPS is a thriving and growing department that is transforming into a national leader in its areas of focus. The director will develop and lead collaborations with educational leaders, policymakers, and researchers to assess needs, seek funding opportunities, lead research initiatives, and share and disseminate findings. Key responsibilities include overseeing all studies under the center, leading external funding efforts, managing budgets, and supervising staff and graduate assistants. The director will be expected to teach at least one class per year and mentor graduate students as a part of their job responsibilities.
This is a 9-month, tenure-track, highly-funded position beginning August 1, 2022.
