Senior Compensation Analyst
About the Opportunity
The Sr Compensation Analysts plays an integral role of the Compensation Operations team by partnering with Compensation Leadership to develop, implement, administer and communicate a variety of complex compensation programs and projects that positively influence University objectives. Work directly with senior management, hiring managers and employees to identify and resolve compensation related issues. Manage and oversee reward and recognition programs as assigned. Conduct job analysis and perform analytical studies, such as internal and external equity, and market analyses. Complete and analyze third-party benchmark salary surveys. Provide consultations and guidance to staff, University HR, and Local HR. Oversee the implementation and ongoing administration of Workday job catalogue and compensation modules including support to faculty compensation team.
Responsibilities:
- Review daily ServiceNow requests for job evaluations, pay
analyses, and other compensation services as well as Workday
transactions; assess each request, determine the need and priority;
and manage inventory of work to meet service level
agreements.
- Conduct job analysis/evaluations, market analyses, and employee
pay analyses; administer position management activities.
Collaborate with HR business partners, local HR, managers and
others to provide consultations and make timely and sound
recommendations both verbally and in writing. Consult with managers
and University Human Resources on salary questions, organizational
& job design issues, and other related issues. Research and
resolve compensation issues.
- Program Management. Partner on Workday Advance Compensation
implementation, and ongoing Core HCM administration for Workday job
architecture. Active participant in merit program planning and
administration.
- Complete data submissions to benchmark salary surveys. Identify
and track opportunities for new survey matches throughout the year.
Create and prepare standard reports to assess service deliver,
competitive pay position, and quality of workforce and job data in
Workday and Payscale.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of compensation and core HR practices. Ability to effectively deliver consultation services and build relationships with managers, peers in the HR community, and others. Ability to quickly gather, organize, and interpret data as well as to make and communicate timely and sound decisions. Skills and capabilities required include: openness to new experiences/curiosity, conscientiousness, approachability, and the willingness and ability to collaborate. Intermediate to advanced Excel and MS office skills. Strong preference given to candidates with experience using ServiceNow, Payscale, Access databases and particularly Workday Human Capital Management system, including Core HCM and Advance Compensation. Knowledge and skills are normally acquired through a bachelor's degree in related field and at least 3 to 5 years in a progressively responsible human resources/compensation position. WorldatWork (ACA) certification a plus.
