ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Philosophy at Salve Regina University is seeking qualified and highly motivated instructors to teach one or more of its PHL-225: Quest for the Good Life courses in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023. Course description below:

• PHL-225 Quest for the Good Life (3 Credits)

This course engages the philosophical and ethical literature seeking answers to the question: What makes a life good? We shall explore the roles of reason and faith in the search for the good life and probe subjects such as: happiness, wisdom, justice, and other virtues through study of the great works of philosophers, such as Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Aquinas, Kant, and Mill. In their company, we will have the opportunity to examine our lives and what makes for a life truly worth living.

Sections that currently need staffing meet on the following days and times:

• Monday/Wednesday: 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM
• Monday/Wednesday: 1:00 PM - 2:15 PM
• Tuesday/Thursday: 2:15 PM - 3:30 PM
• Tuesday/Thursday: 5:15 PM - 6:30 PM

Requirements:

• A minimum of a Master's degree in Philosophy (Ph.D. or ABD preferred); teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to teach in-person on the Newport campus on the days and at the times listed above.
