IdahoSTARS Child Care Resource Specialist
Location: Off Campus Location - Boise

Position Summary:
The Resource Specialist, under the direction of the Lead Consultant, supports and maintains ongoing contact with child care providers with a focus on communicating current rules governing child care licensing and for continued participation as an ICCP provider. This position maintains up to date provider information contributing to the Local Market Rate data. The Resource Specialist offers referrals to parents seeking child care and maintains confidentiality of all clients. Assures accurate data is maintained in the IdahoSTARS RISE database, supports overall function of the regional office and maintains regional lending library. The Resource Specialist works collaboratively with the IdahoSTARS statewide team, supports regional office functions, provides communication to families, child care programs and communities in assigned regions with exceptional customer support.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience:
• Two years providing customer support;
• Balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects;
• Computer skills: Using computers and software for email, scheduling, word processing, data entry and organization, and research.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Associates Degree or higher with two years of experience working in an early childhood related program and/or experience working with child care professionals.
Experience:
• Organizing work effectively and efficiently;
• Communicating effectively;
• Maintaining client confidentiality;
• Portraying a professional demeanor;
• Answering a business telephone using business procedures/etiquette;
• Providing reception and excellent customer service;
• Interpreting federal or state regulations/guidelines;
• Possess a good understanding of the written and spoken English and Spanish languages utilizing appropriate grammar and accurate spelling.
Knowledge of:
• Quality inclusive child care;
• The Idaho Child Care Program;
• IdahoSTARS Project.

Required Licensures, Certifications or other
• Requires the ability to travel between locations during the business day for meetings and support of program activities;
• Work evenings and weekends as needed.
