Description
NYU Shanghai invites applications from qualified individuals to
teach courses in Organizational Behavior and Global Innovation for
graduate students during the Fall 2022 semester. Instruction for
each course will be in English and scheduled for 35 hours of
classroom time. The Fall 2022 semester runs from September 5 to
December 16. Appointments will be made on a part-time visiting or
adjunct professor basis.
Candidates may come from academia or from industry practice and must have a graduate or professional degree (PhD, MBA, or similar). Prior teaching experience in organizational behavior or global innovation and an enthusiastic commitment to higher education are highly valued. A sample course description for Organizational Behavior is as follows: Introduction to theory, research and practice to better understand human behavior in organizations. Topics include motivation and job satisfaction; decision making; group dynamics; work teams; leadership; communication; power, politics and conflict; organization culture, structure and design; impact of technology; management of work stress; organizational change and development; and career management. Analysis of organizational behavior problems by self assessments, case studies and simulations.
A sample course description for Global Innovation is as follows: This course focuses on global technology-enabled innovation. Topics covered include management of emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, internet of things; issues, theories and dilemmas in global innovation; how organizations can become more innovative; accessing global sources of innovation, coordination and organization of activities worldwide; identify, evaluate and discuss key theories, frameworks and models in relation to global innovation; identify, evaluate, and analyze firms’ challenges to access, transfer and use globally dispersed knowledge.
