The Prospect Management Specialist will report to the Senior Director of Prospect Management, prioritizing and leveraging the office's resources to support the university’s fundraising efforts. This individual will provide decision and process support, guide practices and procedures, and consult with major gift officers, annual gift officers, leadership officers, and development coordinators.   To assist fundraisers in achieving an effective and healthy balance in their portfolios, the Prospect Management Specialist is available on an as-requested basis to any development officer and conduct scheduled portfolio reviews. This individual will also oversee the monthly interactions review process to ensure timely and efficient development officer fundraising activity reporting.   The Prospect Management Specialist will work closely with a team of analysts and the Senior Director of Prospect Management to utilize appropriate information to help discover, analyze, classify, and maintain prospects capable of making philanthropic contributions to the University. This individual will also work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders and have an established track record in building meaningful relationships coupled with effectively using relationship management skills and resources.   ABOUT THE OFFICE OF PROSPECT MANAGEMENT   Research & Prospect Management works to discover individuals positioned to advance UGA initiatives, collaborates with fundraisers, and makes sure prospects and donors receive the best possible experience while partnering with our division.   • Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field
  • 3+ years of full-time professional experience
  • Advanced degree in a field demonstrated to have some relevance to this position
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures
  • Previous development experience and/or a background in a non-profit or educational institution 
  • Blackbaud CRM or other fundraising software experience desirable
  • Experience using Qlik Sense (analytics software platform)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, and/or COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of Prospect Management and Prospect Tracking principles and methods
  • Ability to keep accurate records and complete timely reports
  • Knowledge of process, ethics, and policies of professional fundraising
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ethical, mature individual who will exercise discretion regarding sensitive and confidential information
  • Solid knowledge of database management and spreadsheet software
  • Experience with Excel, Access, and other information management databases (to be used to join and analyze data from multiple tables) and able to adapt to and use future technologies
  • Ability to prioritize duties and achieve planned goals for a complex program
  • Familiarity with advancement computing systems
