The Department of Human Services in the Dewar College of Education and Human Services seeks applicants for a tenure track, faculty position beginning August 1, 2022.  Position will serve as the Program Director of the Counselor Education program.  The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching courses in a variety of Counselor Education curricular areas, maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.  As Program Director, the position will oversee compliance with specialty accreditation standards, coordinate preparation and submission of self-study and site visit for re-accreditation, serve as the liaison for the program with the department head, and other appropriate duties as needed to maintain a high functioning program.   

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited institution;
  • Prior experience in higher education;
  • Hold rank of Assistant or Associate Professor;
  • Content expertise in School Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling;
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship;
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CACREP accreditation experience;
  • A record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicant’s career stage;
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting;
  • A record of mentoring students of diverse backgrounds.
