Job Description:

SUNY Empire State College seeks a dynamic Benefits and Leave Administrator (State Title: Personnel Associate) in the Office of Human Resources (OHR) located in Saratoga Springs, NY.  This individual will be responsible for working closely with the OHR team and college wide staff to provide day-to-day administration of benefit services.  This includes assisting and providing guidance to employees regarding health insurance, retirement, paid family leave, family medical leave act, worker's compensation, ADA, annual option transfer period, and other benefit responsibilities.  The Benefits and Leave Administrator will also assist with college-wide COVID-19 operations as it relates to testing, tracking and employee communication.

The successful candidate shall have a demonstrated ability to work with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, excellent independent judgement and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. This position will also need to develop collegial working relationships with individuals at all organizational levels, work independently and as part of a team, have strong analytical and decision making skills and should be quality and customer service orientated.  Must also possess skills to harness software and technology to maximize human resource efficiencies. 

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required
  • At least two years of experience in human resources with one year of benefit administration experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and web based systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a NYS Agency, SUNY, higher education or the public sector in a human resources role.

  • Position is located in Saratoga Springs, NY
  • Hours are 8:30am-4:30pm

Rank/Salary: Management Confidential/$52,000+ depending on qualifications
