Job Description:

APPOINTMENT: Full-time, non-tenure track faculty appointment on the WIU Quad Cities Campus beginning August 18, 2022

RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time, non-tenure track faculty appointment. Teach four undergraduate management and operations management courses per semester (12 semester hours) that could include: Project Management, Operations Management, Total Quality Management, and/or Principles of Management. Service activities are encouraged, including interactions with external business constituencies and student engagement activities.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Earned MBA degree (or closely related graduate degree) and recent professional experience (operations management, project management, inventory management, management, and/or production control) in a related field are both required. Applicants must have excellent communication skills with industry certifications and knowledge of current trends and technology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate degree from an AACSB-accredited university. Academic preparation in management related field. Professional experience in quality management systems, lean principles, project management and/or operations management. Advanced OM/SCM related industry certification (i.e. CAPM/PMP, SCRUM, AGILE, Six Sigma, etc.). Classroom teaching experience and experience with technology driven course delivery including video conferencing and online methods.

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be "in hand" at the time of application.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The multi-disciplinary nature of the School of Management and Marketing reflects the goal of leveraging the complimentary nature of several business disciplines to affect a more engaged and holistic approach to business education. The unit contains containing four distinct undergraduate programs representing each of the core disciplines: Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management as well as a post baccalaureate certificate in Supply Chain Management. As part of the College of Business and Technology, the School of Management and Marketing is accredited by AACSB. By working closely with industry partners and alumni, the school is able to implement innovative programs for students, enhance student and faculty engagement in the educational process, resulting in high impact outcomes for all constituents.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE: For over 50 years, the College of Business and Technology has prepared students to make meaningful contributions in business, commerce, and technology. Organized around five schools including Agriculture; Accounting, Finance, Economics and Decision Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering and Technology, and Management and Marketing, the college delivers innovative, integrative, technology focused programs providing immersive, experience-based learning to over 1,800 undergraduate and 750 graduate students. THE UNIVERSITY:

WIU-Macomb, IL (Student Population: 6,432): A traditional, residential four-year campus offering a comprehensive slate of undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education, WIU-Macomb is located in the heart of west central Illinois in Macomb (population 20,000). Amtrak provides twice-daily service from Macomb to Chicago (and point in-between). Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).

WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,192): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan, non-residential campus in Moline, IL.
