Potomac State College (WVU Keyser), part of the West Virginia University system of campuses, located in Keyser, WV is seeking applications for a Title III Assessment Director. The Assessment Director oversees program and course assessment. The Director works collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and staff to plan, develop, implement, and provide reports on program and course level assessment goals, while working to close the assessment loop through program and course changes.

What you'll do:
  • Collaborates with campus constituents in the process of programmatic reviews, assessments, and evaluations as needed.
  • Oversees completion of recommendations from university program reviews and ongoing program assessment.
  • Assist faculty with the development and data collection for course level assessment to close the assessment loop.
  • Assess courses with high D/F/W rates.
  • Collaborate with PSC’s Educational Designer, faculty, and WVU Teaching and Learning Commons personnel to provide data to inform the redesign of courses with high D/F/W rates.
  • Maintain high-quality first-year course data and related databases.
  • Chair’s the President’s Assessment Council and serves on the WVU system-wide Assessment Council.
  • Engages faculty and staff in learning opportunities in support of the preparation of internal and external reports, including the identification and collection of data, retrieval of required data, and basic statistical processing.
  • Consults with the Dean of Academic Affairs and the faculty regarding the development of student learning and program outcomes.
  • Develops annual timelines for and monitors timeliness of required reporting processes, both internal and external.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the Dean of Academic Affairs.
Qualifications :
  • Master's degree in Assessment and Evaluation or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience assessing college-level courses, as well as developing and working with assessment tools and processes.
Valid Driver’s License to drive to off-campus meetings and conferences.
