The Dean, School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will serve as the chief academic and administrative officer of the School. The Dean will be responsible for the integration of the School into the local, regional, and national health care community, and for overseeing the growth and expansion of the Doctor of Pharmacy and health science programs in the School into a presence within the many distinct areas of the health care community. The Dean will also be responsible for the programmatic leadership and financial management of the pharmacy and health sciences programs within the School, and will serve as the School’s chief liaison to the health care community. In keeping with the University’s mission, the Dean will work through various constituencies to foster global relations for the program as well as serve as an advocate for the profession with political, public health, and government leaders. This position reports to the University Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. This position will carry academic rank as appropriate. Required Qualifications:
1. An earned doctorate from an accredited university. Pharm. D. or Ph. D. in a related field preferred. Experience in pharmacy education is required. Strong understanding of contemporary pharmacy and health care systems, with eligibility for pharmacist licensure is preferred.
2. Minimum of 8 or more years of senior administrative experience at an accredited school/college of pharmacy at an Assistant/Associate/Dean level.
3. Proven leadership ability in the field of pharmacy.
4. Substantial experience within higher education, and attainment of senior academic rank (full professor).
5. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
6. A vision and interpersonal skills to build partnerships inside and outside the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and University-at-large.
