Simulations Specialist will manage the daily operation of the Emergency Management Departments Emergency Operations Training Center. In addition to supporting various hardware and software platforms for use in classroom and extra-curricular settings, candidate will be directly involved in working with the EM Department Chair, EM faculty and EM students in supporting various EM Department mission needs.

 

General responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily operation of the Emergency Operations Training Center (EOTC)
  • Oversees the preparation, maintenance, inventory, and operation of all simulation equipment (hardware/software/supplies, and collaborates with faculty and partners to design, plan, implement, and schedule classroom based and extra-curricular based simulation activities
  • Serves as a technology advisor and provides instructional support to EMHS faculty in/on classroom integration and use of various EM related software and hardware
  • in support of course/classroom learning outcomes and objectives
  • Ensures adherence to EOTC program policies and best practices to attain course learning outcomes and objectives, and program objectives for the various disciplines
  • Serves as a liaison to various EM and Academy internal and external partners while supporting various EM and Academy program goals, programs and initiatives

 

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Working knowledge with associated certifications for various software and hardware used to support Emergency Management mission sets including Web EOC, GIS & related GIS platforms; HAZUS, MARPLOT, CAMEO and other ESRI based mapping and data related products
  • Emergency Management field experience
  • Working knowledge of Emergency Management National Preparedness System
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work independently

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree preferred
    • Professional licenses/certifications consistent with Emergency Management &; National Security

 

Salary:     $68,000 to $73,000.  The Academy offers generous benefits policies and a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is exempt under FLSA. The Academy is not sponsoring immigration visas at this time.
