Established in 1887 as a school for the education of American
Indians, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke serves a

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration has
need for part-time or adjunct faculty to teach courses on campus.
While there may be need from time to time for a broad variety of
courses, the Department is seeking applicants to teach in the
following subjects: Introduction to Political Science, American
National Government, State and Local Government and Administration,
Writing for Political Science, and other courses as needed.
The Department of Political Science and Public Administration
provides students with four concentration areas: general political
science, public policy and administration, international studies,
and pre-law. We invite applications to be submitted for potential
openings.
These positions are especially suited for potential faculty who
possess Ph.D in Political Science or Public Administration OR a
Master’s Degree in Political Science, Public Administration, or a
related field that includes a minimum of 18 hours of graduate work
in the area of instruction. All degrees must come from accredited
institutions. Strong consideration will be afforded to candidates
who exhibit a demonstrated record of professional experience and
success in undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate must be
able to teach on campus during regular business hours. Excellence
in teaching and learning conducted within a rigorous and
stimulating environment is an important core value of the

The Political Science and Public Administration Department has a
strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and part-time faculty
are expected to exhibit and maintain campus and department
standards. Work Location: Main campus of the University of
North Carolina at Pembroke.The Political Science and Public

Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
Applicants must have a Ph.D in Political Science or Public
Administration OR a Master’s Degree in Political Science, Public
Administration, or a related field that includes a minimum of 18
hours of graduate work in the area of instruction. All degrees must
come from accredited institutions. Strong consideration will be
afforded to candidates who exhibit a demonstrated record of
professional experience and success in undergraduate teaching. The
successful candidate must be able to teach on campus during regular

Management Preferences: Prior experience teaching
in higher education.
