Job Description:
What We Are Looking For

The primary purpose of this position is to manage ongoing grant-funded projects and conduct research with Drs. Stephanie Gerow and Tonya Davis. The research will be related to educational and behavioral interventions for children with developmental disabilities. Example ongoing research projects include evaluations of parent-implemented interventions and teacher training in evidence-based practices for children with autism. The postdoctoral researcher will receive mentorship from faculty in the Educational Psychology department in conducting single-case research, large-scale projects, and applied behavior analytic research. The Department of Educational Psychology is committed to conducting meaningful and rigorous research and to securing external research funding.

Required
  • Completed doctoral degree (or completed requirements of doctoral degree) in education, psychology, or related field
  • Training and experience in conducting research in educational and/or behavioral interventions for individuals with developmental disabilities

Preferred
  • Publication record
  • Experience with grant writing and/or conducting grant-funded projects
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA-D) and meets BACB supervisor requirements
  • Licensed behavior analyst in Texas or eligible for licensure in Texas

What You Will Do

Under the supervision of Stephanie Gerow and Tonya Davis, the postdoctoral researcher will primarily conduct the following tasks:
  • Manage ongoing grant-funded projects: train and supervise research assistants, recruit participants, conduct research sessions, collect data, analyze data, contribute to required reports
  • Conduct research: develop protocols, recruit participants, conduct research sessions, collect data, analyze data, disseminate findings (e.g., publish manuscripts, present research)
  • Other research, scholarly, and/or professional development activities, as assigned by supervisor
