Job Description

The College of Liberal Arts Student Center at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for the position of Academic Advisor 1. The Academic Advisor 1 in the Student Center for the College of Liberal Arts is responsible for providing academic advising for new, transfer, and continuing students on general academic requirements. The individual serves as a resource for all new and current students to assure that they are making timely progress toward degree completion. In addition, the academic advisor takes the lead on certain activities related to advising, recruitment, and retention and assists the Director of Advising, Recruitment, and Retention with other recruitment and retention activities. The Academic Advisor is responsible for projects as assigned and is involved in program design and implementation relating to advising, recruitment, and retention. The Academic Advisor reports to the Director of Advising, Recruitment, and Retention for the College of Liberal Arts.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related experience OR Master's Degree and one (1) year of related work experience.

Related experience: in a field related to academic advising or student services

Preferred Qualifications

-Educational background in a Liberal Arts discipline, advising and recruitment experience within any of the following disciplines: humanities, arts, and social sciences

-Master's Degree

-Evidence of attention to diversity, equity and inclusion in advising-related activities and experience

Compensation Grade/Rank

Salary minimum is $44,000.

This is full-time Administrative Faculty - Compensation Grade B
