The Department of Political Science at High Point University
invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the
undergraduate level in American Politics (specialization
open).
This is a non-tenure track, Assistant Professor position. The
starting date is August 2022.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- PhD in Political Science is required.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability: Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship. Demonstrate ability to publish research within at least one subdiscipline of Political Science.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teaching three courses at the undergraduate level per semester.
- Teaching responsibilities may include American Politics as well as other courses in the liberal arts core.
- Candidates should be actively engaged in scholarship, with expectations to maintain a program of research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
- Service to both the department and the University.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Reports to the Chair of the Department of Political Science.
