Upper School (US) United States and World History Teacher Department: Upper School Location: Washington, DC
Position Start Date: 2022/2023 School Year
Status: Part-Time
Sidwell Friends, a co-educational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD, seeks a part-time History teacher in its Upper School to begin during the 2022-2023 school year.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to inspire and support students and will show a willingness to work collaboratively and independently in an environment committed to academic excellence, equity, justice, service, and students social emotional wellness. An appreciation for adolescents and a sense of humor are also essential.
Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in History or a related field (an advanced degree is preferred) and teaching experience, preferably at the high school level. Experience teaching United States History and World History is required.
Teaching positions at Sidwell Friends School are campus-based; therefore, this position requires teaching in person. This position begins in August 2022.
