POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide full-cycle
recruitment support for the University’s staffing needs (staff,
faculty, student workers, contractors), including developing
innovative recruitment and sourcing plans, screening candidates,
interviewing candidates, and recommending candidates for hire.
Manage the applicant tracking system and critical HRIS functions to
ensure processes are functional and producing the desired results.
Coach and counsel internal applicants to help them compete
effectively for transfers and career progression opportunities
within the university. Engage in a full range of activities that
produce a pool of candidates for job vacancies in advance of
need.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•
Work closely with managers to gain a comprehensive
understanding of departmental and university hiring needs for each
position and meet competitive hiring goals and expectations.
• Grow and foster high-touch relationships with a
database of qualified active and passive talent to pull from as new
positions develop.
• Continuously partner with human resources
leadership and senior managers to find talent, and plan, create and
release job descriptions and job posting announcements.
• Avoid legal challenges by understanding current
legislation and enforcing regulations with hiring managers and
other University leadership.
• Partner with human resources team to develop
and or refine standardized talent acquisition processes (personnel
requisition, job descriptions, job postings, structured interviews,
screening resources) to ensure compliance with established federal
and state guidelines and ethical practices.
• Develop and publish job posting announcements
on multiple social media platforms and job boards to attract
talent.
• Research recruitment advertising sources to
make recommendations and measure all talent sources used to develop
ROI benchmarks.
• Screen resumes and prospects, qualify,
interview, and manage candidates throughout the selection
process.
• Identify and communicate any barriers to
success in the job posting and selection processes and participates
in efficient resolutions to obstacles.
• Determine applicant qualifications and
evaluates applicants for consideration for vacant positions.
• Follow up on interview process status and
update records in internal database, ensuring efficient and timely
communication occurs with all involved parties.
• Manage new employee introduction to the
electronic onboarding process once position offers are
accepted.
• Manage student worker application and staffing
processes, partnering with applicable leadership to advertise
opportunities, fill positions and ensure student worker success
with navigating the HRIS new hire employment processes.
• Represent the University by hosting and/or
participating in area career fairs to attract talent.
• Update job knowledge by participating in
educational opportunities, reading professional publications,
maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional
organizations.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
• Participate in regular departmental meetings
and activities related to the comprehensive administration of the
University’s human resources department function.
• Provide training and resource materials to
University’s leadership involved in talent acquisition for their
respective staffing needs.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND
ABILITIES:
• Exceptional
communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, database
management, and internet search.
• Proficient with job boards, and HR software,
databases, and management systems.
• Demonstrated experience conducting various
types of interviews (i.e., phone, video, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Title III funding and
other grant fund source allocation for select staffing
assignments.
• Advanced knowledge of behavioral assessment
tools and interviewing best practices.
• Experience developing a recruiting strategy and
demonstrated proficiency with content management systems

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in human resource management (or related
field)
Experience: 5+ years’ experience in talent acquisition or
human resources, preferably in a higher education or governmental
environment.
Licenses or Certificates: PHR or SHRM certification
preferred; PCR a plus, not required.
