  REPORTS TO: Assistant Director Lifelong Learning, Camp Director
  
  The position instructs campers in a weekly, fast-paced summer camp program for children entering grades 2–8.
  
  PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  
  

1. Instructs, plans curriculum, supervises, and manages daily camp classroom activities.
2. Motivates children to participate in age-appropriate activities.
3. Ensures campers follow policies and procedures.
4. Communicates with Camp Director regularly and create a safe environment and fun experience for campers.
5. Communicates with parents and camp staff in a professional manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• NJ Teaching Certification
• Experience working with and supervising children
• Knowledge in topic instructing such as art (clay, tie dye) or math (grades 2-5)
• Ability to communicate and work with a variety of age and skill levels
• Friendly and caring personality along with the energy and stamina needed to work with kids
• Reliable and responsible individual with ability to report to work on time
• Comfortable communicating with parents and staff
  
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience caring for and supervising children in a group of 15 or more
• Public or Private School Teacher with one or two years of teaching experience or more
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to make independent decisions
• Strong proactive problem-solving skills
• Capacity to handle diverse responsibilities and multi-task
• Ability to deal positively with a diverse population

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:


SCHEDULE: June 27, 2022 to August 19, 2022 (No camp on July 4)
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Some shifts may be 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. or 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
