    Department Summary
    The Center for Equity Promotion (CEQP) is a research center and Grant Management Unit (GMU) within the College of Education (COE) at the University of Oregon (UO). The GMU provides pre-award and post-award grant administrative support to projects, centers, and institutes within the GMU (the Center for the Prevention of Abuse and Neglect, and the Institute on Violence and Destructive Behavior) as well as to other centers or institutes that require GMU assistance.

    The Center for Equity Promotion and collaborators have implemented interventions and contributed to innovative research in six countries, focusing on improving educational and health outcomes, decreasing youth violence, and facilitating family relationships with incarcerated parents and healthy reintegration after release.

    CEQP is comprised of 13 Principal Investigators/Researchers who hold tenure and non-tenure-track faculty positions, a business manager, two officers of administration, one graduate employee, as well as temporary employees, student employees, and courtesy research appointments and affiliates that vary in need. CEQP has operated with approximately 1 to 2.5 million dollars of annual revenue from federal grants and state contracts.
    Position Summary
    The Center for Equity Promotion at the University of Oregon is seeking qualified applicants for its open research pool. Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years.

    Potential areas of research include program development; statistical analyses related to all phases of preparation of scientific papers, presentations, and grant applications; staff professional development at project level; and off-site research activities with a variety of populations including persons with identified developmental disabilities or non-English speaking populations. In addition to the creation of a population of databases required for research and evaluation projects.

    Research Associates and Postdoctoral Scholars will conduct independent research and participate in research teams.

    Research Assistants will conduct research under the direction of Research Associates and participate in research teams.

    Some positions may require bilingual written and oral fluency.

    Some positions may include overnight travel and/or extensive previous experience in a similar job role.
    Minimum Requirements
    Research Assistant Rank:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related area

    Research Associate Rank:
  • Terminal degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Administration or related area

    Postdoctoral Scholar:
  • Doctorate degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Administration or related area
    Professional Competencies
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds and an interest in creating and maintaining a diverse learning and working environment.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and leadership capacity.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain overall program mission.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
