Assistant Professor of Management

The Department of Management, Information Systems and Entrepreneurship in the Carson College of Business at Washington State University in Pullman, WA is seeking qualified candidates for one or more full-time positions in Management.  This is a renewable, fixed-term, three-year appointment from August 16, 2022 to May 15, 2025. 

The preferred candidate must be capable of teaching several upper-division management courses in one or more of the following areas: Principles of Management and Organization, Leading People and Organizations, Personnel and Human Resources Management, Recruiting and Hiring Human Capital, Evaluating and Rewarding Employees, Management of Innovation and Change, Negotiation Skills, and Strategic Management. Experience with case-based or other interactive teaching methods and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and teaching effectiveness is also desired

Duties include teaching in face-to-face and/or distance-learning programs, and make service contributions to his/her department, college, university, community, and profession.  This is a 9-month academic appointment with an expected teaching load that varies from 9 hours to 12 hours (3 or 4 courses /semester), depending on the position and qualifications of the candidate. Research may also be part of this position depending on the qualifications of the candidate.

Qualifications:

Requires a minimum of an earned master’s degree in Management or closely aligned field by the employment start date. Demonstrated ability in teaching face-to-face and/or in online environments OR demonstrated experience in training and/or mentoring within the business environment. Well-rounded knowledge of business development from relevant work experience
